This organic Darjeeling Second Flush comes from Samabeong, one of the highest tea estates in Darjeeling, with its plantations stretching over 2000 metres above sea level. Located in the remote district of Kalimpong, in the north-eastern part of Darjeeling, the farm benefits greatly from the mild and humid microclimate of the region. This climate is perfect for developing the complex and nuanced flavours that Darjeeling is so famous for around the world. Samabeong Estate has a rich history and was established as early as 1882 in the Kalimpong region. The tea estate has been committed to organic farming for many years, ensuring that the teas produced are sustainable and of the highest quality. This particular Darjeeling Second Flush has the classic and sought-after notes of the nutmeg grape, giving the tea a sweet and aromatic character. D arjeeling Samabeong Golden Musk lends itself well to multiple infusions. The second infusion is best kept short, as the leaves have already started to open and release their flavours. Subsequent infusions, on the other hand, should be left to rest a little longer, so that the flavours deepen and the nuances emerge. For many teas, two or three infusions with the above parameters are enough, but some keep on giving, cup after cup.
