Our Sencha Lemon Twist is rooted in an ancient tradition dating back to the Tang Dynasty in China, when people began flavouring steamed green tea with citrus peel to give it a refreshing and aromatic twist. This technique has been refined and developed over the centuries, and in our modern interpretation we have chosen to combine an organic steamed green tea with a carefully selected harvest of lemon oil from Calabria in Italy - a region known for its exceptionally aromatic and flavoursome lemons.
The organic green tea in Sencha Lemon Twist is filled with a soft, bright greenness and offers a light, fresh base that harmonises perfectly with the crisp, citrusy notes of the lemon. The Calabrian lemon oil provides an intense and clean citrus flavour that brings out the natural freshness of the tea and provides a balanced acidity without overpowering. The result is a refreshing and well-balanced cup, where the light greenness of sencha meets the fresh and lively lemon flavour in an elegant way.
