Long Jing Reserve
Price range: 10.02€ through 72.50€
Long Jing, also known as Dragon Well or Lung Ching, is China’s most famous green tea and originates from Zhejiang Province. Our Long Jing comes from Hangzhou Prefecture, where the tea is grown at an altitude of around 500 metres and produced using the classic method of gentle hand-roasting in a wok. The traditional Jiukeng cultivar (鸠坑群体种), combined with skilful processing, produces an elegant tea with fresh green notes, a soft nuttiness, hints of citrus and a long, sweet aftertaste.
The leaves are hand-picked at the end of March, which means that this tea is one of the highly sought-after pre-Qingming harvests. The first tender spring shoots are prized for their soft, elegant and nuanced character and are considered to produce some of the finest Long Jing teas of the year.
The tea bushes are several decades old and are propagated using cuttings from selected mother plants, which preserves the desirable characteristics of the traditional Jiukeng cultivar.
Tegården uses sustainable farming methods.
