Chardwar Assam is a classic, organic black tea from the renowned Chardwar estate in the Assam region of India. Located on the banks of the Brahmaputra River, the farm offers an optimal climate for tea cultivation, with humid conditions and fertile soils that promote the development of rich flavours and aromas. This Assam tea is full-bodied and malty, typical of high-quality teas from the region, but it also has subtle hints of florality that add an extra dimension to the flavour experience. The tea is brewed to a beautiful amber infusion with a fine lustre, making it visually appealing in the cup. It's great to drink on its own, but thanks to its deep, robust flavour profile, it also works well with a splash of milk or a pinch of sugar for those who prefer a milder cup. Chardwar's organic growing methods ensure that the tea not only tastes great, but is also sustainably produced and pesticide-free.

The art of brewing several times

High quality tea leaves are rich in flavour and can be brewed in several batches. For best results, you should adjust the steeping time for each new infusion.

  • First infusion: Follow the recommended time to allow the leaves to open and release their first flavours and aromas.
  • Second infusion: Now that the leaves are already warm and open, the flavours are released immediately. Therefore, shorten the infusion considerably - often half the time or a very quick infusion of just a few seconds is enough.
  • Subsequent infusions: From the third brewing onwards, the leaves start to need more time. Increase the infusion time gradually for each new round.
