Kukicha is an organic Japanese green tea which, unlike most other teas, is made mainly on twigs and only a small proportion of leaves - kuki means twig and cha means tea. The taste is characteristically round and slightly creamy with a nutty sweetness and a fresh greenery. The tea contains a low caffeine content and a high proportion of theanine, which is a calming amino acid.
