Yunnan Pure Gold is a black tea from Yunnan Province, and one of the world's premier black teas. This premium Yunnan Gold is grown at an altitude of around 1700 metres in Lincang, Western Yunnan Province, and harvested by hand in early spring. The tea consists mainly of the sought-after buds, and during the oxidation process, these feathery buds acquire their beautiful golden colour. Yunnan Gold has a full-bodied and rich flavour with a clean finish, a velvety body and hints of cedar, malt and a dark sweetness reminiscent of maple syrup.

Yunnan Pure Gold is well suited for multiple infusions. The second infusion is best kept short, as the leaves have already started to open up and release their flavours. Subsequent infusions, on the other hand, should be left to rest a little longer to allow the flavours to deepen and the nuances to emerge. For many teas, two or three infusions with the above parameters are enough, but some keep on giving, cup after cup.
