At a time when many Earl Grey varieties are produced using low-quality black tea and artificial flavourings, our Earl Grey South of the Clouds offers an uncompromising experience of genuine quality and craftsmanship. Here, the authenticity and carefully selected origins of the raw ingredients take centre stage. This Earl Grey is based on a full-bodied black tea from Yunnan Province in China, known for its smooth, complex flavour profile and naturally rich character. The Yunnan tea contributes a deep, earthy tone that harmoniously balances the fresh, citrusy notes of the fresh bergamot.
The bergamot oil in our tea comes from Calabria in Italy, where the growing conditions are optimal. Calabria is considered the region where the world's finest bergamot is grown, ensuring that each cup of tea carries the unique, pure citrus aroma that characterises true bergamot. This gives our Earl Grey South of the Clouds a distinctive freshness and an aromatic profile reminiscent of the warm climate and fresh sea breezes of the Mediterranean.
The tea also has a subtle visual elegance, as it is gently decorated with cornflowers.
